The Marine Corps
Heritage Foundation is making the dream of a National
Museum of the Marine Corps a reality in Quantico
Virginia. The museum, scheduled to be dedicated
on 10 November 2006, is a unique opportunity “
to honor those Marines who preceded us…to
confirm our heritage…to share with our nation,
and with each other, the riches of our experiences…
and to leave a lasting and glorious legacy for the
future.” The 1st Recon Battalion Association
Memorial Fund honors the Marines and Corpsmen who
gave their lives in service to their country while
serving with the battalion. Our goal is to donate
$25,000. 00 to the National Museum of the Marine
Corps in memory of our fallen comrades. A plaque
placed in the National Museum memorial park will
commemorate our memorial gift. Your help is needed
in order to reach our goal by November 2006. To
date, $19,965 has been donated to the Memorial Fund.
Although we are close to reaching our goal, we still
have a way to go. If you haven’t contributed,
do so. If you have contributed, consider an additional
contribution. Your ideas and financial support will
enable us to reach our goal! Let us know of any
potential corporate donors to contact and appropriate
ways to raise additional funds, such as the sale
of Memorial Fund bracelets. Contributions may be
made by check or money order payable to:
